Zumba This fun, fast-paced dance class burns calories, strengthens muscles and is great for all levels from beginner to advanced. Dance to the hottest Latin, Reggaeton and R&B hits. It’s a PARTY!
Soul Line Dancing The Wobble, Cupid Shuffle, Zydeco Bounce, Mississippi Cha Cha, Earthquake and more will have participants stepping, swaying, dipping and turning to popular R&B songs from “back in the day” to today. A perfect class for ages 8 to 87 and all levels of fitness. Great for church events, family reunions, health fairs, fundraisers or a weekly fitness class.
CoreXotic™ This women’s-only class is a sexy blend of exotic dance and core strength using a folding chair as a prop for ages 18 and over. Makes a great bachelorette or birthday theme party. High heels are optional, but they definitely add spark and spice.
Caribaerobics Soca, Dancehall, Reggaeton, and Calypso make up the soundtrack for this heart-pumping workout. Get ready to wine, jump, and jam with this Caribbean-flavored workout.
Yoga Whether you are a beginner or regular practitioner, AYM Yoga classes allow you to move and breathe at your own pace and level. Styles include Hatha, Ashtanga/Power, Vinyasa Flow, YinYoga, Restorative and more.
Pilates Our mat Pilates classes follow the Joseph Pilates method levels 1-5 to work core abdominal muscles including the sides and back. Hip and shoulder joints are strengthened through exercises appropriate for all levels. This is a good program to combine with a Yoga style for an integrative fusion of strength and flexibility.
Meditation Slow your thoughts, silence your mind, and still your body with meditation. A variety of styles are presented in AYM meditation classes – object observation, internal body scan, moving meditation, breath-focused, and intention-based. Instructor may include essential oil aromatherapy and sound therapy with chimes and ambient music.
B.A.M. Butt, Arms and Midsection is exactly what the name says… a muscle conditioning class to firm and strengthen these key areas of the body. Light weights and calisthenics make up the routine of this class.
Bootcamp This circuit-training routine integrates intervals of cardiovascular drills with muscle conditioning calisthenics. Exercises include lunges, squats, pushups, and sprints. This class is usually held outdoors and is appropriate for participants with a basic level of strength and endurance.
Cardio Kickbox Non-stop combinations of punches, jabs, front kicks, and roundhouses from martial arts make up of the foundation of this challenging cardiovascular workout. Add pushups and crunches for a full-body workout. Appropriate for participants with a basic level of strength and endurance.

A variety of styles are introduced and practiced to allow participants to find the best fit for their personality. Sessions include meditative breathing and visualization along with essential oil aromatherapy and sound therapy using chimes and ambient music. Schedule a one-time session or plan for on-going classes to improve group skills.
Do you carry most of your weight in the upper or lower part of your body, or are you naturally thin top to bottom? Learn the differences among the body types – endomorphs, ectomorphs, and mesomorphs. Get tips for eating and exercising for your specific type. Participants’ body types can be determined during the workshop if desired. Handouts provided.
This 8-week training program prepares instructors to teach levels 1-3 of the Joseph Pilates mat core strength program. Using The Pilates Method of Physical and Mental Conditioning by Philip Friedman and Gail Eisen as a textbook, the course focuses on the anatomy of Pilates breathing, the precision and rhythm of moves, the kinesiology and biomechanics of Pilates exercises, and teaching techniques to help instructors explain these important areas to students in a group setting. Participants will be videotaped teaching segments of a class. In order to complete the training with a certificate, students must pass a written exam with a minimum of 80% of the answers correct and a full class must be taught and observed by an AYM Pilates instructor. If you love line dancing and want to teach others how to do the latest routines, this is the training program for you. In this workshop instructors will learn proper terminology for directional cueing, choreography breakdown, how to create multilevel challenge, cueing and teaching techniques, and legal obligations. Participants may be videotaped teaching segments of a class for individual review and self critique. Workshop includes all training materials and certificate of completion.
This workshop is for newly certified 200Hr and 500HR Registered Yoga Teachers needing experience teaching to the general public. Participants will learn:
*how to modify their yoga style for everyday people;
*The 5 Cs of creating a great Yoga experience for students;
*Legal matters specifically related to Yoga
*Modifications of every Yoga pose for those with physical limitations
*Contraindicated moves for people with high blood pressure, arthritis, and more
Participants may be videotaped teaching segments of a class in pre-established settings.

AYM provides before-and-after fitness assessments for individuals or large groups. Assessments can be tailored to fit the needs and requests of your group. AYM’s FitTest Spreadsheet indicates improvements in any or all of the wellness areas listed below:
Weight, Body Fat% and BMI
Weight, body fat and the body mass index are measured using the Weight Watchers digital scale and a bioimpendance measuring device to quantify changes in lean vs fat mass in the body.
The 3-minute step test measures resting and 1-minute recovery heart rates to show improvements in the heart’s ability to efficiently pump blood throughout the body.
1-minute push-up and crunch tests evaluate core and upper body strength.
The sit-and-reach test is used to gauge lumbar and hamstring flexibility.
Measurements of 4 body locations are compared before and after to indicate inches gained or lost during the test period.
