
For over a decade, Althea has worked and trained with individuals and groups at hospitals, fitness centers and schools throughout the US and the Caribbean. At Johns Hopkins Pediatric Center in Baltimore, MD, she created and still runs the fitness programming for their youth obesity program. In Atlanta, GA, she designed, implemented and staffed the fitness Healthy Living courses for Atlanta's Kaiser Permanente medical centers from 2005 - 08. As a faculty member for the American Council on Exercise, she is an international presenter and motivational speaker and has authored several published articles on health and wellness. With specialties in pre- and postnatal fitness, youth obesity, and joint/muscle disorders, Althea is a sought-after wellness professional.
Althea is the producer and star of the Altheatized video series, which has has been reviewed by magazines and newspapers like Essence, Parenting and Oxygen. Altheatized also aired as a cable fitness show from 2003-2006. Her dynamic personality and creative choreography made her a favorite guest for television programs like BET's Heart & Soul, and won her the role of weekly fitness reporter for the WBAL Channel 11 news in Baltimore, Maryland for two years.
After moving her family to an Atlanta, GA suburb in 2005, she and her husband decided to open their own studio. Aerobics, Yoga & More is the culmination of Althea's experiences with youth, adults and seniors. Classes are a combination of fun and creative dance, evidence-based wellness programming, and mind/body exercise.
