Intro to Meditation

**Company Favorite** This course teaches and practices various breathing techniques, guided meditation, and gentle stretching for the neck, shoulders, back and legs to improve stress management. Aromatherapy may be incorporated.

Food Facts & Fiction

Dissect popular trends in the world of healthy eating to determine what’s fact, fiction, and truly healthy based on current research.

Disconnect to Reconnect

Learn why, how, and when to disconnect from electronics, difficult situations, and toxic people. Discuss how disconnecting can be beneficial to deep REM sleep, focus/concentration, and mental & physical well-being, and time management.

#MenToo *NEW IN 2020*

Men are often affected by the same health challenges as women. Learn about lesser-known medical issues facing men as they age, and pick up tips for working with a physician to optimize male health in these areas.

Workout @ Work

**Company Favorite** Learn multiple workout routines to easily and safely perform in and around the office (with or without equipment) for all fitness levels.

C.A.L.M (Create a Lighter Mood) *NEW IN 2020*

Practice seated neck, shoulder, back, and hip stretches. Learn breathing techniques, visualization tools, essential oil recommendations and more to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere for stress relief and improved focus at work or home.

Caregiver Timeout *NEW IN 2020*

Caregivers are often juggling work, family, and the additional responsibilities of caring for a loved one with long-term illness. In this session, identify signs of caregiver burnout, learn self-care techniques, and get resources for caregiver support.

Eat the Elephant

“Q: How do you eat an elephant? A: One bite at a time.” Learn how to break down big ideas & projects into doable action items. Discuss time management, focus exercises, and real life “just do it” techniques for different personality types and work styles.

Fit Quiz

**Company Favorite** This game-show style lunch-and-learn divides the audience into teams to test knowledge and teach about fitness, nutrition, and health. It’s a fun and exciting way to learn about health and wellness.

Work Your Body Type

**Company Favorite** Learn the difference among the body types – endomorphs, ectomorphs, and mesomorphs – and common variations. Get tips for eating and exercising for each specific type to get the look you want. Participants may have their body type determined during the session.

Cooking Demonstration

Make and sample healthy, tasty meals and drinks. Choose from smoothies, juices, salads, seafood/meat meals, and plant-based substitutes.

Reduce Risk of Cancer through Nutrition *NEW IN 2020*

Research and clinical tests prove certain superfoods and specific nutrients reduce the risk of cancer. Learn which foods to avoid and which ones to include in your diet to prevent and lower the risk of primary and secondary cancers.

What's Up Doc? *NEW IN 2020*

Learn important tips in preparing for any medical visit and communicating effectively with your medical practitioner to get the most out of every trip to the doctor, pharmacy, or therapist for you or a loved one.

Which Way Do I Go? *NEW IN 2020*

Learn tips for navigating the maze of the healthcare system for you or a loved one using technology before, during, and after a medical visit to decrease anxiety, improve the quality of a visit, and minimize “unknowns”.

Still Healing *NEW IN 2020*

Working onsite while managing an illness may be uncomfortable for both the employee and the people they work with. Discuss when and how to disclose an illness, how to feel your best at work, and preparing for extended absences. On the other side, learn how to work effectively with someone dealing with a health challenge.

Classes

Level 1: Beginner – Easy
Level 2: Advanced Beginner – Moderate
Level 3: Intermediate – Advanced – Challenging

Level 1

Guided Meditation

Slow your thoughts, silence your mind, and still your body with guided meditation. A variety of styles are presented in AYM meditation classes – object observation, internal body scan, moving meditation, breath-focused, and intention-based. Classes will begin and end with gentle neck and shoulder stretches for physical relaxation. Instructors may include essential oil aromatherapy.

Level 2

Yoga

**Company Favorite** This class includes the core strength of mat Pilates with the subtle challenge of Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Target areas are the abdomen, back, legs and arms. Moves are done lying, kneeling, and standing to improve flexibility, balance and muscularity. Focused breathing and mental activities increase relaxation and reduce stress. Yoga mats are required for this class which is performed barefoot.

Mat Pilates or Yogalates

Our mat Pilates class follows the Joseph Pilates method levels 1-5 to work core abdominal muscles including the sides and back. Hip and shoulder joints are strengthened through exercises appropriate for all levels. This is a good program to combine with a Yoga style for an integrative fusion of strength and flexibility.

Level 3

B.A.M. (Butt, Arms, Midsection)

Butt, Arms and Midsection is exactly what the name says… a muscle conditioning class to firm and strengthen these key areas of the body. Light weights and calisthenics make up the routine of this class.

Bootcamp

This circuit-training routine integrates intervals of cardiovascular drills with muscle conditioning calisthenics. Exercises include lunges, squats, pushups, and sprints. This class is usually held outdoors and is appropriate for participants with a basic level of strength and endurance.

Fitness Testing

AYM provides before-and-after fitness assessments for individuals or large groups. Assessments can be tailored to fit the needs and requests of your group. AYM’s FitTest Spreadsheet indicates improvements in any or all of the wellness areas listed below:

Weight, Body Fat% and BMI
Weight, body fat and the body mass index are meausred using the Weight Watchers digital scale and a bioimpendance measuring device to quantify changes in lean vs fat mass in the body.

Cardiovascular
The 3-minute step test measures resting and 1-minute recovery heart rates to show improvements in the heart’s ability to efficiently pump blood throughout the body.

Strength
1-minute push-up and crunch tests evaluate core and upper body strength.

Flexibility
The sit-and-reach test is used to gauge lumbar and hamstring flexibility.

Body Composition
Measurements of 4 body locations are compared before and after to indicate inches gained or lost during the test period.

Massage, Acupuncture or Reflexology

Acupuncture, Reflexology, and Massage are three forms of alternative treatment for muscle tension, stress, chronic illness and organ disfunction. Schedule a day of services for your staff, team, family or friends or choose a therapy to learn about in a workshop.

Retreats

Is your organization planning a trip for team building, renewal or relaxation? AYM can provide 1-3 hour sessions of team building, nature excursions, mind-body exercises, relaxation sessions, creative thinking activities, guided journaling and more.

5K Walk/Run Warmup

Whether it’s a 1 mile fun run, 5k road-race, or a 3-day walk, AYM will get the crowd warmed up, laughing, and stretched before, during and after the event. 5 minutes or 5 hours, 5 people or 5000 ‒ AYM’s team of instructors can make it happen. Sound equipment included if necessary

We can put together an action-packed day of fitness-related activities for your organization’s team, employees, friends and family.
